Gross WPM is characters entered ÷ 5 ÷ active minutes. Accuracy counts every correct or incorrect entry, including characters you later correct. Deleting never erases an earlier mistake.
Speed appears after ten entered characters and five active seconds. Pause, leaving the input, switching tabs and opening a window stop the clock. Resume by returning to the input.
Paste, autofill, text replacement and undo/redo make that attempt untimed. IME text is checked once when committed. Straight and curly quotation marks match; use the period key for an ellipsis; the original passage stays unchanged. Campaign line lessons quote the work.
